In my opinion, lettuce is one of the easiest and most rewarding things to grow. You can plant it pretty early in the season because it is so frost tolerant and you can succession plant it so that the rows keep coming and coming. We had more than we could eat in our little garden.
The biggest challenge was cleaning it. I need to figure out how the farmers at the Farmers Market clean theirs. They sell lots of it and it is always so beautifully clean.
